Year 1, Day 212

A remarkable moment happened this morning:

On the way out the door, Jackson stood there quietly, in full concentration, and then looked down toward his diaper and said emphatically, "POO!"  It was a glorious moment.  God, I feel like the typical mom of a toddler - feeling enthusiastic over the possibility of living in a world that doesn't involve diapers. Potty talk? Bring it on. The sooner he recognizes he doesn't want to sit in his own pee, the happier for all.

Another amazing moment this morning,  is when Jackson decided to rename us.  He started calling us both MOMMY and DADDY. Prior to, it was MAMA and DADA. It was so exciting and wonderfully sweet at that point in time.. Now, it is laden with a tinge of saddness because what's next? MOTHER and FATHER, and then KRISTY AND MIKE?  Then, a stage of calling us nothing at all and just asking for the keys on a Saturday night . . .
