Year 1, Day 213

Patsy's relatives arrived by express mail the other day. I carefully snuck them inside and hid them in the top dresser drawer. I was curious to open the little guys and compare - would Jackson take them for the real thing?  I decided not to try and fool him. I told him that Patsy was sick of playing football for awhile, and he was going to try out for baseball. With pure athletic talent, the Red Sox picked him up in the first round draft pick. If you recall - the original Patsy has a Patriots logo and bear head holding a football somehow . . . he has no paws.  His 2 relatives have the Red Sox logo and a bear head holding a baseball. It's perfect timing for Patsy to give up football - it's Opening Day weekend!

I guess I was surprised as how warn Pasty had gotten over these months.  In comparison, he is so soft and cozy.  His relatives are stiff and cold. From this point on, for our sake only, we'll refer to Pasty Number 2 as "Ruthie." Jackson took a hold of good old Babe Ruth, and was very hesitant. You could tell that he knew something wasn't quite right, but he didn't know what - so he just gave it a big snuggle after a once over. Perfection! Patsy and Ruthie are interchangeable. And, as an added bonus, Ruthie has an identical twin in hiding.
