Jackson woke up this morning, as a completely different boy than he was yesterday. Today, he blurted out the words "UGHT Ohhh" when he'd drop something, even if he meant to do it. I also caught him picking up my clothes off the floor and putting them away in the laundry basket (that's my boy!). Mike and I both watched him throw a football a pretty impressive distance. And, on top of all that, he'd proceed to mimic everything he hears in his own adorable baby babble. No wonder why the monkey was a bit tired and cranky last night - I think his brain had all those connections to make while he was sleeping and then BAM! it all came together this morning.
I can only imagine that his growth and ability to do things will just be remarkable over these next months. It's such an exciting time and fun to just watch him discover the world through trial and error. Tonight, he took a running start and bounded through the tunnel that his Aunt and Uncle gave him, flipped it on it's side, and laughed hysterically as he rolled around the room. He even got the kitty involved in the game.
What I learned today: Though Jackson doesn't say much yet that other people would recognize, he does not miss a beat. Mike and I will be talking about the cat Miles, and all of a sudden Jackson will burst into hysterics and start looking for him up in his cat tree or under a table. Though our sentences may sound like babble, you can tell that he is understanding many more words than even weeks before. He amazes me everyday. I love this age and just wish, if only I could freeze time . . .
