And our lengthy vacation is coming to an end. There is nothing worse than realizing you have to go back to work after many, many days off with your family. It will be completely heartbreaking to wake Jackson up at 5:45 tomorrow morning. He has been sleeping until 7:30 every day. If you've ever woken up a sleeping baby in pitch darkness, to drag him to daycare, you'd know that it takes a little piece out of your heart every morning.
So we made the most of our Sunday. He is more eager to play in the snow, and honestly, he did want to come inside. Jackson had his full out tantrum, when he tries to run away, then falls limp to the floor, and just rolls around like a wet bug that can't fly. We have found the easiest way to squelch the situation is to walk over him and continue on . . . it sounds heartless, but ignoring the meltdown works best so far. If you try to pick him up or distract/redirect, it just feeds into the mess.
Jackson is napping, and we are watching the Pats game (as I write AND watch the game because I seriously think I have ADHD now that I am a mother). I can't seem to focus on one task without thinking of all the others that have to get done while Jackson naps. In my head are the following: find and iron outfits for week, get Jack's bag ready for tomorrow, lay out his clothes for morning, stop at grocery store, plan a few meals for week, blog, workout, and make dinner. Jackson only naps an hour and a half . . .
I think I'll abandon the "LIST" and sneak in a cat nap before the monkey wakes. Sounds like a better use of time on the last day of vacation. SUNDAY is supposed to be a day of rest, is it not?
