Year 1, Day 141

This blog, though highly uncreative, is a hodge podge of things I witnessed specifically about Jackson today . . . extremely exhausted, I just can't figure out a way to string them all together in an articulate manner. So, here is the list:

He drinks milk from a small, plastic cup!? I walked into daycare and he was SIPPING his milk from a disposable flimsy plastic cup. I just really think he wouldn't do that at home . . . how in the world does he sit there and just sip his milk from an open cup like he's 4? He did. And then, to top it all off, he looked at his daycare provider and said "more please." It made me feel like a bad mom for underestimating his ability. He doesn't say please yet for me. We've been working on that a lot.

BUT, I DID get a "thank you" today in the car. On the way home, it happened quickly, but we both heard it. After giving him a treat to eat, he mumbled something that sounded very close to "thaaankkk ewww".

Jackson's new words include Elmo, and I always promised I wouldn't be that mom who barrages her child with commericial toys and personalities. But he LOVES Elmo, so screw it at this point. Who wouldn't love Elmo? He's gentle, kind, he has contagious laughter, he loves being tickled, and he's a giant red fuzzy thing. I can think of worse role models.

Jack has a hard noggin. It could break concrete. It nearly broke my nose this afternoon. At daycare, I was reading him a book, and we walked backwards into my lap. With full force, he thrusted his head directly into my nose. It was a "choke back your tears" moment.

Though recovered, I am exhausted tonight, so I am signing off early with hopes for a energized tomorrow. Love to all.
