Year 1, Day 146

It was a monsoon in Boston today. Of course, Jackson loves this kind of weather, because it is water. If Jackson could remain surrounded by a sac of water his entire life, he'd opt too . . . but it did occur to me today, when we headed out into the rain swept wind storm that he was actually experiencing the rain. It's not that he hasn't see or been in rain before, but he never really showed any interest until today.

Walking outside, we stepped in and out of the drops that were falling. He held his hand out to catch them. Every drop tickled his face. He was belly laughing, as disgruntled workers left the building complaining about the rain and wind. They trudged through, heads down, into the bad weather. Jackson looked up to the sky with sheer excitement. Isn't it funny, that what we used to consider amazing and fun as a child, turns into a nuisance when we turn old? I couldn't help but notice Jackson staring. His rain jacket had collected little water droplets and he watched them run down. He could have watched the rain collect in puddles for hours. in turn, I caught these precious moments today and just savored them.

These blogs just touch my heart. The fact that you are such a busy mom, yet still notice all these things about Jack. Love you.
