Year 1, Day 181

March 1st roared in like a lion this morning with whipping wind and rain.  But behold! By noon, I saw a sparkle of sunshine at my window! So, in my desperate attempt to end Winter, I am stating that "Spring is in the air."
I broke out the lighter coat today. I watered a flower in my window. I walked with a extra bounce in my step. I even took a nice stroll after lunch.  But . . . I came back with near frostbite. Don't let the dancing sunshine deceive you - it is completely freezing out there.

I'm okay with it though, sort of.  It means another month of comfort foods, cuddling on the couch, commiserating at the lack of sunlight, and hiding under baggy clothes. I suppose that I can hang on another month.  It will make Spring and Summer that much more appreciated and wonderful.

With Jackson, there are so many things that I am looking forward to once the weather does warm up a bit. I want him to run through fields of flowers, pick dandelions, dig in piles of mud, slosh through rain puddles, and watch baby birds take flight. I want him to love Spring and take in every breath of the humid Summer air that he can, because here in New England those months are FAR too short. Before you know it, the icebergs move in again.
