Year 1, Day 183

Last night was just too perfect. The entire evening went off without a hitch.  It was as if all the stars aligned and angels floated above us. Our "new routine" was right on. Jackson loved the book nook, no background television, a light and pressure free dinner, a gloriously fun bath, and an early bedtime.  We all laughed, had fun, and enjoyed each other.  When Mike and I retreated to bed that evening, we gave each other a high five. We were hot sh*t, and had figured it out.  We were A++ parents.

Apparently, last night was a fluke. We suck. Nothing that worked yesterday soothed him today.  There was no pleasing him, no helping him, and no doing anything right. He threw the books from the nook, stood in front of the television crying, refused dinner of any kind, screamed through his bath, and was completely inconsolable. Back to the drawing board.

On a positive note:  Happy 18 month birthday, Jackson! You have lived outside in this world two times longer than inside.  I'd say you are officially a resident. I assume that you are enjoying yourself, a tad bit more, than in a sac of water?? We are glad that you are in our world.  We love you to pieces. Happy 18th months!

Happy 18 months, Jackson. I know you are just soooo tired out by the end of the day. Maybe you need a nice long nap at Grammie's soon.
