Year 1, Day 216

The cell phone rang, and it was daycare this afternoon. I always dread those calls, because it means another bump of the head, or an ear infection. But this time, it was just a warning that Jackson was "out of sorts." I could only assume that he was missing Grammie and Nana, and that he was exhausted from a fun filled weekend.  That all proved to be true when he fell asleep on the changing table at 11:00am.  He was out in dreamland until they woke him at 2:30. Poor monkey. He was exhausted.

I think the 3 hour car ride hour was not helpful last night. We were stuck in Easter traffic and Jackson "slept" the whole time, but I don't think sleeping in a car is equivalent to sleeping in bed. With every slam on the brakes, from an MASShole driver that cut us off, his little head bobbed around . . . and I'm sure he partially woke up each time. I wonder how their little heads and neck can be resilient - when I look back in the carseat and see him all contorted and sleeping, I think about how I would need 800 mg of Mortrin after a sleep like that. My neck would scream "CHIROPRACTOR!"  Flexibility is wasted on the youth, when they SO can't appreciate it.

That thought made me come up with the following list:  Things you wished you remembered as a child, because you had it so good . . .

Having someone:
stroll you around for a daily walk.
pick out your clothes each day.
feed you grapes.
wake you with a back rub, instead of an alarm.
hand you a nutritious meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and hand feed it to you if you are too tired. exhaust all efforts to read your mind.
want nothing more than to kiss and love you all day.
