Year 1, Day 263

Jackson was a trooper today.  As part of my 10 year college reunion weekend, I dragged him to a campus full of women that swarmed him and loved him to pieces.  At the beginning of our visit, we stood at the sidelines watching the laurel parade pass us by . . . antique cars, bag pipes, and little old ladies being driven in golf carts - waving and smiling.  Jackson kept clapping and yelling HONK HONK at the cars, and smiling at the Class of 1940 when they walked by. "HIII!!" coupled with incessant waving made the parade even better.  The women walking by, were tickled to see him so happy.  As each class past us, it made me realize what a special and deep rooted tradition I am part of at MHC. I knew that of course, but seeing these women reiterated that fact.  I am happy to have had the chance to connect with friends from those years in my life, and to share this part of my life with them as well. It was Jackson's first trip to mommy's college. Though he won't ever be able to go to his mother's alma mater, it was still nice to see him put on my MHC hat this evening and wear it with pride. Go Lyons!
