Jackson is starting to appreciate the "dress up" corner at daycare. Today, when we arrived at school, he grabbed the firefighter helmet and secured it as "his" before the others could arrive. I'm sure he wore that hat until it was time to go outside. He is fascinated by hats these days. Along with the winter fleece one, he also shares time wearing my huge Mount Holyoke hat at home, completely covering his eyes.
As I picked him up this afternoon, I noticed something on his little hand. How could I miss it? Jackson had been wearing a gardneners glove on one of his hands for most of the day. Apparently he and Ella were planting. He was NOT going to let me take that floppy glove away from him and leave it overnight in school. So, needless to say, leaving daycare was a challenge today. Had I not been able to redirect him with "juice" waiting for him in the car, Patsy sitting in his seat, and Daddy arriving within minutes, I'm sure the meltdown would have erupted to a ten, and would certainly not have been pretty.
The glove must have reminded him of the sock puppets we created in the car (what else can you do with the socks that he yanks off during the car ride home?) Whatever the case, this one glove was special today. If the glove obsession lasts, it could be put to good use, helping Grammie and Nana garden this weekend.

I think I started the hat thing with the Pumpkin Hat at age one month, the Santa Hat at 3 months, the Snowman hat after Christmas for the winter, and then the Monkey Hat for the beach. The man of many hats. :)
