Reading over my posts from this week's vacation, and being back in Natick to reflect on the Cape, there were so many memorable moments that I hadn't captured for Jackson in writing. The number one thing was that he was able to spend an entire week with his Nana, his Auntie Sha, and his Uncle Doug. To see him laugh and respond to them in the way that he did, was just priceless. That alone, made the vacation truly memorable.
Here are some highlights of the trip:
The Zooquarium, where we all watched Jackson chase around the roosters screaming COCK A DO!! over and over. And, his fascination with the turtle and fish exhibits.
The morning walks on the beach with Nana, and the "chocolate milk" by the seaside, as we watched the waves roll in. Jack identified the white birds on the beach as chickens. "Hi chickens!!"
The infinite patience of Sha and Doug for watching CHOO CHOOs, adapting to 8 pm dinners and 5 am wake ups.
Skaket beach and the tide pools. Digging in the sand, collecting rocks, finding crabs, watching boats, and making friends with excited "hellllos" given to strangers.
Riding the bike in the house.
Showering outside. Jackson only took one bath - the rest of the time, he demanded an outdoor shower.
Other memorable moments: grilling, playing in the yard, tossing the football, taking buggy rides, eating lots of soft serve and fish, and soaking in the sunshine - 7 days of sun. We were blessed!!
