In our town, there is an organic community farm that we visited in the Fall. At that time, I had Jackson in the stroller because his little feet would have tired out before making it to the piggy pen. Today, nearly 8 months later, Jack had a completely different experience. Old enough to run around the farm, he took off toward the goats and the cow, making animal noises all the way. They captivated him and make him laugh hysterically when they rubbed their noses against the fence. He loves goats. We need a goat.
We made our way to the pigs rolling in their mud and eating sludge of some sort. It was a hot day, and not the highlight of the trip. The stench made me choke, but it didn't bother him at all. It was clear that foul odors are much like cold water (in pools and oceans) to children: neither exists. We watched the pigs enjoy their day and we made our way to the sheep pen.
At the sight of the sheep, Jackson sang out in tune: BAA BAA black sheep, have yuany woool? Yes sih yes sih tea baaags full." It made my day. Every trip is an adventure, and different from the last.

Hey you know what's cool? I know some people that live on a farm with cows and goats and stuff... maybe we can coordinate and you can bring Jackson to that farm so he can see the goats!
What are those farmers up to this weekend? Any plans?
