You know that when your days begins with thousands of meat carcasses impeding your way to work, you probably shouldn't have gotten out of bed. A gloom and doom Monday, began with a late wake up on my part, and breaking news that 2 tractor trailers collided with a car at the Weston tolls. Out flew thousands of pounds of raw meat. It was a vegan's nightmare. I am not even vegetarian, and I was repulsed.
So the accident forced us to take an alternate route, which rushed our morning routine and got us to work late. I will spare you the details of my horrible work day, and just let you know that tears of frustration were shed. But alas, tomorrow is a new day, so I'd just put it behind me and go to pick up my husband and son. Nope. Can't do that when you LOCK YOUR KEYS IN THE CAR?! Great. The maintenance men did their best to break in and help me, but it was a lost cause. So Mike had no other option but to bring Jackson on the T, to my work, and save the day.
The work day was horrendous in itself, but when the train pulled up and my little family walked off the platform, I had to smile. I saw his glowing face, just laughing and giggling, LOVING the train ride apparently, and I just melted. It really didn't matter - all the stuff that had happened to make me completely inconsolable to that point kind of vanished. You know that you are in love when a look changes your day.

I can only imagine how much Jackson loved the train (and probably Mike too, for riding it with him.) Somehow the green line seems less cramped and more fun when you're watching your kiddo experience A TRAIN!
And yes, I can't get the idea of that meat all over the Pike out of my head. I drove through there this afternoon and have to admit that I looked around for some visual evidence. No dice. Bummer!
Sorry about your lousy day and locked keys. Hope you can crawl into bed and have a good rest. :)
