Our baby son thinks that he is cat. I suppose there could be worse things. Tonight he ran into the kitchen, ripped open the unsecured cabinet and pulled out a kitty water bowl. He brought it over to where the cat usually drinks, dropped to his hands and knees, and preceded to "slurp" imaginary water from the bowl. I had to crack up. It was hilarious to watch. Of course, my reaction caused him to do it again and again, and then bring it over to daddy to show him. I won't be laughing when he tries to slurp real kitty water out Mile's bowl on the days that I forget to put it out of reach, but honestly, SO worth the comic relief tonight.
How can he possibly be old enough to imitate and play pretend? I have a hard time understanding how this development thing is happening so fast. Granted, I was an an early education major, but come on. Those stages happened in a textbook - not a real life child. When you are observing the development of your own child on a day to day basis it is completely a miraculous and wonderous event.
I think this might be my favorite age/stage to date. He is completely responsive, interactive, and still such a little baby. The innocence and magical wonder is difficult to swallow without a tear sometimes. The outrageous tantrums, screaming fits, and obstinate behavior . . . mere bumps in the road.

My favorite age thus far too :)
I am laughing out loud picturing this. Can't wait to see all of you again.
