Jackson's appetite returned this morning, so we knew we were headed in the right direction. The poor kid was so famished from his weekend hunger strike that he drank two smoothies, ate toast with jelly (all adult portions, I might add) and then cried continuously for corn puffy things through all his doctor appointments today. The final verdict: Jackson had "rotovirus" this weekend and is still suffering from remnants of an ear infection as well. During a lengthy bout of screaming, after he fell and busted his lip in the waiting area this morning, I also noticed that he had one or two more teeth come in this weekend. A virus, ear infection, and emerging teeth - that must have sucked. No wonder why he was on a hunger strike. To add more more insult to injury, he tripped over his feet in the second doctor appointment today and whacked his head on a step stool. I am beginning to wonder if rotovirus causes klutziness. Though I'm no doctor, I'd be willing to bet that the fluid build up is causing some kind of vertigo, because he is like a drunken sailor these days. Ten more days of Amoxicillian ahead, and a check up in 2 weeks. Hopefully, Spring will bring us some healthier days.
Thank you for all the well wishes and good thoughts to Jack. He is on the mend today and sleeping as I write this. He is on his third hour of an afternoon nap. It's a good day to sleep. We've been blanketed in snow out there. It figures - we had a fierce winter storm warning last week which amounted to a dusting. Today, the snow fall was completely downplayed, and it's creeping over 6 inches already!! Ohhhh Spring! Where are you????
