"Do as I say, not as I do." I heard that ringing in my head, as I told Jackson to" put those little piggies back in his shoes." He had taken off his sneakers and socks in the backseat. Barefoot, he shouted "HI PIGGIES!! HI!!" Why would he wear shoes anyway? His mommy never does. And besides, it wasn't until he was nearly one when I finally broke down and bought him his first pair, and those were more like slipper socks to be honest. What feels better, on this earth, than frolicking barefoot in grass? Well, maybe I overexaggerate, but it does feel glorious. Plus, he has NO problems with gross motor skills, so I don't think the latent shoe wearing had any real impact. If anything, it made him balance better and feel more grounded.
So, here's to being barefoot in the summer months ahead. His piggies can breathe a bit. Lord knows, after this long winter, they must be squealin to come out, and I can't be a hypocrite. Hypocrisy and parenting aren't the best combo.

Just no crocks until he is older. Apparently it makes some kids change how the walk to a waddle. haha
I was just coming on here to say get him a pair of crocs and then I saw Rachel's comment. Ha!
Well, my guys love their crocs as it's like being barefoot AND they quickly learned how to put them on/take them off all by themselves. Now THAT is NICE!
I just read an article about crocs and toddlers. Apparently Rachel knows her stuff, cuz that's exactly what the article said. It changes their natural walk to a waddle.
