Jackson skipped his little self right into daycare and told Ella's mother - "I kissed Ella!" It was his first real sentence - clear as day. Oh Lord, we are in for a wild ride.
Speaking of wild rides, today was one of those. The day began with my husband leaving for work at 3:30am and then showing up on the front page of CNN. Someday, Jackson will know what happened today, and how his dad helped to keep this country safe. Someday, we will know what really happened today . . .
It's a chilling reminder to be thankful and appreciative for every moment, and to not take for granted our freedom, this country, and the people who keep us safe.
