Year 1, Day 273

I cry at the sight of sundresses and sandals, that come with the matching dolly dressed up in similar attire. I know, I am pathetic and awfully girly in some ways, but I just don't understand why boys clothing has to be so obnoxious.  Unless I find myself drooling over the clothing in a boutique that I can't afford, most of the choices I'm faced with are shirts that scream out with obnoxious colors, vehicles of all kinds,  ugly triceratops, and equally frightening animals.  Sure, Jackson loves to point out the shark on his *teal* blue shirt, or the monster truck that races up the side of his sleeve, but I am saddened by the choices he has. Maybe I am just used to picking out girls clothing and having so many options - tank tops, skirts, dresses, capris, shorts, jeans, or lounge wear.  For boys, it's a shirt and some kind of pants/shorts. That's it. There is little creativity unless you want to spend a fortune on beautiful clothing that he grows out of in one month (or never really fits him right anyway).
I give props to Nana and Aunt Sha for somehow finding adorable clothing for Jackson, because if it was up to me, I would get frustrated and put him in a frilly dress . . . with a matching doll.

It's simple for guys because you're grooming them for some day having to dress themselves. Gotta keep it simple. I barely have pants on today.

You better hope that Mike doesn't read the part about dressing Jackson in a dress.=) Amelia wore a white tank top with a skull and crossbones made out of silver sequins today. I am sure it gave my grandmother a conniption fit. =)
