Getting Jackson ready for his nap today, he fought a bit, but he eventually relented and cozied up in his crib with all his friends. On my way out the door, before leaving his room, I always say "have a nice sleep - sleep well baby." Jackson replied to that statement for the very first time today. In a cute sleepy voice, but clear as day, he said "OKAY Mommy." And when I took him out of the crib this afternoon, and asked if he slept well, he gave me a resounding "YES!!"
For so long, we went through the "everything is NO" phase. No shoes, No milk, no nothing that you want to give me... so, this hiatus of responses in the affirmative is a welcome treasure to behold. I'm sure the dreaded case of "No" will rear it's ugly head again at some point in the future, but there's nothing like capturing those positive moments to help you through the tougher ones down the line.
