How long did I wait for Jackson to utter the precious word "Mommy." I remember a point in time when I would have settled for any variation of the word - Mama, mom, mother, lady, or just the lady with milk . . . after such a long wait, Jack did utter that word, and all the above - much to my delight.
Only now, he won't stop.
"Mommy! Mom! Mama! MOMmy!" is all that I hear when I am around him, within an ear shot, and it's getting a bit difficult to finish a sentence with other people. I start a conversation, and I can get about 3 words out before my train of thought is derailed and I am focused on saying "Yes Jack, Mommy is talking. Please wait." He doesn't know how to wait yet. Teaching patience is difficult. Patience and toddlerhood are archenemies.
On a side note to conclude the weekend, I have to add two funny things that cracked me up laughing:
Driving home on the mass pike, I made my way off the ramp and towards fast lane. I slowed down to pass through, but apparently not enough. Jackson shouted from the backseat "SLLLOOOWWW MOMMY. TO FAST!!" A backseat driver already, and less than 2 years old!
On our way to open the door, after not seeing his father all weekend, I asked Jackson "where does daddy live?" Of course, I thought he would say "inside" or "home".
His answer: "the chair."
Priceless.
