Jackson knew that he was going on "cation" as he calls it. He was definitely aware that he was going to the ocean today, and must have fell asleep dreaming of the seashells and waves. At the crack of dawn this morning, before 5:15, he shot out of bed as though eager to get on the road. I wasn't nearly finished packing, and he kept urging me to the door saying "walk mommy, let's go mommy."
The shoreline was his sandbox. He threw flat rocks into the water and finally rushed in after them. It wasn't until the receding wave whoosed back over his feet that it freaked him out and he fell plop into the freezing water. He was not happy, and at that point, happy "cation" ended for a bit. Hopefully, tomorrow's beach experience will be better.
High point of today: Jack is sleeping on a big boy mattress for the first time!! We'll see how that works out tonight . . .
