I thought I had infinite patience, but today I raised the white flag in surrender. It was until I saw Jack put his fists in his mouth and chew on his hands, that it occurred to me: his second molars are erupting. With pain likened to childbirth, this would explain the extreme mood swings and the desire to only drink, protest solid foods, throw random tantrums, and shovel down ice cream.
Despite this blip in the road, Jack did enjoy the beach after a dose of Motrin this morning. He made it into the water, took long walks, watched frisbee, played in the sand, and picked up crabs and seashells. He loved it. I am so glad. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, and it rejuvenated the soul a bit.
Tomorrow, Mike and I get the chance to try parasailing, and have a "date" day. We need it, and Jack can use some relaxin' with Nana.

Jello and pudding make good molar food too. :)
