Year 1, Day 227

Weeks ago, I scoured the internet and found a body double for "Patsy." When "Ruthie" and Ruthie's twin were delivered, I was hesitant to see if Jackson would recognize the slight differences.  I NEVER intended them to be sitting side by side at any given time - we would just swap them out as needed.  So, I hid them away in a drawer. When one got washed or "lost" a relative would come out to say hello. But yesterday, there was an unexpected family reunion.

In the car with Jackson, I was driving and he was wailing in the back seat.  I reached down into my bag and felt around for Patsy. I handed it over my shoulder and all was quiet.  Eerily quiet. So I adjusted the mirror to see full view of the monkey.  In the rearview, I saw him hugging TWO "Patsy's", and watching them give kisses to eachother back and forth. I had no idea there was already one back there!  He carefully placed both these lovies on his shoulders and gave them equally endearing "night nights" (cuddling up and closing his eyes). He didn't seem phased that there were two, and that they were slightly different. He seemed ECSTATIC that somehow, another wonderful friend, miraculously emerged out of nowhere.
