Year 1, Day 244

Dear Jackson,
Happy 20 month birthday to you!  In four months, I can finally stop referring to you in months . . . . but then, I think that is the point when you are officially "not a baby anymore." Regardless, I'll always think of you as my baby - as embarrassing as that will become later on in your life.

On our walk at dusk last night, a young family passed us and just fell in love with you.  "Ohhh look at the BABY" she said as she ogled over you in your little monkey foot pjs. I have to admit that I could have put you in a number of different pajamas . . . I am always making a spectacle out of you. But, you eat it up, so don't even try to act shy. Every time we passed by anyone, you stuck your little arm out, waving, and relentlessly shouting "HI - HIII!". Most people had ear buds in and couldn't hear you.  But, you didn't know that, and you still held out in hopes of reciprocation.

So, here you are, 20 months old and 20 months wiser than when you arrived. You have taught me so many things  . . . things that I didn't even know that I didn't know.
