Year 1, Day 245
As a mother, you choose your battles each day. I let the monkey eat a near full can of cheese puffy things instead of listen to him cry his eyes out in the backseat. I couldn't take the screaming today during the commute home, so I just gave into his urgent need for puffs. He had discovered the can in the diaper bag, that was mistakenly within his reach. I'd usually offer him one or two at a time, but not today. He chowed down. Allowing him to do this was going to result in one of the following: it was probably going to make him puke, not eat dinner, or be so sick of cheese puffies that he never wants to see them in this lifetime again. It gave me something too - my sanity. I drove in complete and utter peace and quiet. Give up the puffs and reap the silence. The battle was over. We both won.
